Sports physical examinations
Tennova Orthopedics and Tennova Primary Care providers, along with the Jersey College School of Nursing, will perform sports physical examinations so local high school athletes can meet the Tennessee Secondary School Athletic Association’s requirements. Examinations run from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday, May 11, at the Pilot Family YMCA, 400 Winston Road in West Knoxville.
“The TSSAA mandates student-athletes receive a sports physical prior to participating in any athletic activities,” a Tennova press release stated.
“Our primary concern is the safety of our student-athletes in any sport they play,” said Dr. Daniel Benson, Tennova Orthopedics. “The convenience of offering sports physicals at no cost, with easy access, is helpful to our student-athletes and families alike.”
“The sports physicals are free on the specified date and time listed only,” the press release further stated. “On all other days, walk-in or scheduled appointments for sports physicals will be required.
