A celebrated volleyball star with a heart for the Lord has earned an NCAA Division 1 full-ride scholarship to the U.S. Air Force Academy.

Concord Christian School senior Abigail “Abby” Collins signed a National Letter of Intent Tuesday, March 6, at CCS to attend the prestigious academy in Colorado Springs, where she will play for the school’s Falcons Volleyball team.

Collins is CCS’s first athlete to sign a Division 1 full-ride scholarship, and also is the school’s first military academy appointment, according to school officials.

“Those who know Abby, know that she is a young woman of incredible character, in addition to her many talents,” CCS Head of School Mark Kelly said.

“We are proud of her and know that she will represent herself, her family, Concord, our country and our Savior (Jesus Christ) well,” he added.
