CAK makes award-winning hires

Christian Academy of Knoxville has announced the appointments of three administrators plus a physics teacher having earned multiple awards.

Jessica Thomas, formerly assistant principal at CAK, has been promoted to head principal of the elementary school.

Susan Wallis, most recently high school principal at Berean Christian School, was named head principal at the high school.

Kim Giles, most recently K-8 director of Student Services at Grace Christian Academy, has been appointed assistant principal at the elementary school.

Joseph Foy has been hired to the campus’ high school science department. Having taught the previous five school years at L & N STEM Academy, and from 2007 to 2013 at West High School as a mathematics and physics teacher, Foy has earned numerous awards.

Those include Building Level Teacher of the Year in 2016 from L&N STEM faculty, Building Level Teacher of the Year in 2012 by West High faculty, WBIR-TV Teacher of the Month in February 2012 and was elected Teacher of the Year in 2009 by West students. Foy will teach physics and honors physics.
