Ralph McGill’s stated support for Williams as mayor

(At the request of Marianne McGill following the Monday, June 25, death of her husband, Farragut Mayor Ralph McGill, this letter was published)

I am supporting Ron Williams for mayor of Farragut in the Aug. 2, 2018, election.

He has immersed himself in Town governing activities. He is currently serving as an alderman for the South Ward and as a member of the Board of Zoning Appeals. He also attends many other volunteer committees such as Farragut Municipal Planning Commission, Visual Resources Review Board — and when time allows, attends staff development meetings.

In addition to learning about functions and responsibilities of Farragut committees, Ron has expanded his education of municipalities by taking advantage of Municipal Technical Advisory Services classes at UT. He attends City/County Transportation meetings with focus on the technical committee and the executive committee meetings.

Ron explained that by attending the City and County meetings, he learns what is going on in Knox County and in the City of Knoxville. This information helps him to know what is happening with our neighbors and to prepare to work with these governments.

Finally, he embraces the principles of careful planning and planned roads improvement.

Ron Williams is committed to serving the Town of Farragut residents as mayor.
