’13-hour Radiothon’ for Dream Connection children set for Sept. 18

A first-of-its-kind two-station “13-hour Radiothon” will benefit “Dream Connection,” which makes the dreams of critically ill children come true.

An all-day broadcast Tuesday, Sept. 18, is the result of Country music station Merle FM, WMYL 96.7 and Alternative station 94Z, WNFZ 94.3 joining forces.

Included will be interviews with some of the children, visits by local celebrities and prizes including tickets to area attractions, restaurant certificates and T-shirts, according to Ron Meredith of Merle FM, a Dream Connection press release stated.

“We are delighted to see that two radio stations area willing to work together on our 13-hour Radionton, which we think will enable us to fund the dreams of between 40 and 70 children between ages 3 and 17,” stated Don Ball, Dream Connection Board member, in the release.
