Road detours, closures, delays for Saturday’s 13.1, 5k runs

The following roads will be affected traffic-wise during Farragut 13.1 half marathon, which runs from 7:30 to 11a.m., Saturday, Oct. 27.

Drivers are encouraged to seek alternate routes, or expect delays — perhaps lengthy at times. (Traffic alterations for Saturday’s Farragut 5k run are posted later in this notice).

If local traffic cannot seek alternative routes, extreme caution should be used:

Half marathon traffic

• North Campbell Station Road from Old Colony Parkway, from 7:30 to 11 a.m. Righthand far lane of traffic will be closed.

• South Campbell Station Road to Turkey Creek Road, one lane of traffic will be closed from 7:30 to 8 a.m. Runners will be utilizing the righthand side of the road. Motorists should use caution.

• Turkey Creek Road, from 7:40 to 8:20 a.m. Runners will be utilizing the righthand side of the road. Motorists should use caution.

• Evans Road from 7:50 to 8:35 a.m. Runners will be utilizing the righthand side of the road. Motorists should use caution.

• McFee from Evans Road to Allen Kirby, from 7:50 to 8:45 a.m. Runners will turn right onto McFee and turn left onto Allen Kirby. Both sides of McFee will be held while runners cross the road and lanes will reopen as runners clear intersections along the way.

• Allen Kirby /Virtue Road, from 7:50 to 9 a.m. Local traffic should seek alternative routes if possible.

• Dixon Road from 7:55 to 9:15 a.m. will be closed to thru traffic. Local traffic should seek alternative routes if possible.

• Old Stage towards Kingston Pike road to Coach Road and lanes will reopen as runners clear intersections along the way.

• Kingston Pike from Old Stage to Everett Road, from 8:10 to 9:30 a.m. Both sides of Kingston Pike will be held while runners cross the road and lanes will reopen as runners clear intersections along the way.

• Everett Road from Kingston Pike to Union Road, from 8:10 to 9:45 a.m.

• Union Road from 8:10 to 10 a.m. Local traffic should seek alternative routes if possible.

• Smith Road to Grigsby Chapel Road, from 8:15 to 10:15 a.m. Local traffic should seek alternative routes if possible.

• Grigsby Chapel to West Fox Chase Drive, from 8:20 to 10:30 a.m. Runners will turn right onto West Fox Chase. Both sides of Grigsby will be held while runners cross the road and lanes will reopen as runners clear intersections along the way.

• West Fox chase to West Woodchase from 8:25 to 10:30 a.m. Local traffic should seek alternative routes if possible.

• West Woodchase to Woodsmoke Circle from 8:25 to 10:40 a.m. Local traffic should seek alternative routes if possible.

• Woodsmoke to Grigsby Chapel Greenway, from 8:25 to 10:40 a.m. Local traffic should seek alternative routes if possible.

• Grigsby Chapel Greenway, from 8:25 to 10:45 a.m.

• Chapel Point Lane to Grigsby Chapel Road, from 8:25 to 10:50 a.m. .

• Grigsby Chapel Road to entrance of Grisby Chapel Greenway behind Farragut Primary School, from 8:25 to 10:50 a.m. Both sides of Grigsby will be held while runners cross the road and lanes will reopen as runners clear intersections along the way.

• Grammar Lane to Old Colony Parkway, from 8:30 to 10:50 a.m. Local traffic should seek alternative routes if possible.

• Old Colony to Campbell Station Road, from 8:30 to 10:50 a.m. Local traffic should seek alternative routes if possible.

Farragut 5k traffic

The following roads will be affected during the Farragut 5k, which takes place between 7:45 and 9 a.m.:

• N. Campbell Station Road from Kingston Pike to Old Colony Parkway, from 7:30 to 11a.m. One lane of traffic will be closed.

• Old Colony to North Monticello, from 7:35 to 7:50 a.m. Local traffic should seek alternative routes if possible.

• North Monticello to Briarcliff, from 7:35 to 8 a.m. Local traffic should seek alternative routes if possible.

• Briarcliff to South Monticello, from 7:35 to 8:05 a.m. Local traffic should seek alternative routes if possible.

• South Monticello to Bellfield 735a-810a Local traffic should seek alternative routes if possible.

• Bellfield to Chowning, from 7:40 to 8:15 a.m. Local traffic should seek alternative routes if possible.

• Chowning to Russfield, from 7:45 to 8:25 a.m. Local traffic should seek alternative routes if possible.

• Russfield to Heritage Drive, from 7:45 to 8:30 a.m. Local traffic should seek alternative routes if possible.

• Heritage Drive to Village Green Parkway, from 7:45 to 8:40 a.m. Local traffic should seek alternative routes if possible.

• Jamestowne Boulevard to Village Green Shopping Center, from 7:50 to 8:55 a.m. Runners will turn into Village Green Shopping Center; drivers will be held while runners cross the road and lanes will reopen as runners clear intersections along the way.
