Spreading her wings, Cody Real Estate opens

Farragut resident Angie Cody has spread her wings as the team leader of Angie Cody Real Estate Team/eXp Realty at 11002 Kingston Pike in Concord Square.

Farragut West Knox Chamber of Commerce president/CEO Julie Blaylock welcomed Cody and her team as new Chamber members at a ribbon cutting Tuesday, Aug. 13, at Cody’s Farragut office.

“Thank you for opening up in Farragut,” Farragut Vice Mayor Louise Povlin added. “We really appreciate businesses that come in and fill up our spaces. It gives activity, and it makes people interested in what’s going on in Farragut.”

“We absolutely love this location,” Cody said. “It’s convenient for everybody.”

A licensed realtor for 13 years, she started her team a little more than two years ago and opened her new office Nov. 1, 2018.

Cody explained she is an independent contractor for eXp, a national real estate firm, but she runs the real estate office as an LLC, taking care of her clients’ residential sales needs.

She also has a teammate who takes care of property management services.

“One of the reasons I started the team is I wanted to help other realtors be successful,” Cody said, adding she also is a national real estate coach, coaching six other realtors throughout the country.

“I really enjoy what I do,” she added. “I enjoy helping families buy and sell homes, and I really enjoy being a mentors to my buyers, agents and my teammates.”

Cody started in the real estate field in 2006. In 2009 she recalled the housing market “was awful, and a lot of people said, ‘Oh, she’s going to have to get a real job.’

“I thought to myself, ‘No, I’m just going to prove everybody wrong, and I’m going to make it work,’” Cody said.

Although she struggled for a couple years, she persevered.

Being a mother, Cody wanted a career that allowed her a flexible schedule.

Now, she has her own team of six agents and a part-time assistant working with her.

“Right now we’re on track to sell 100 homes this year,” Cody said. “(Business) has really taken off in the last eight, nine years.

“I started my team in 2017, just because my business really exploded and I couldn’t keep up. I needed help, and my clients needed a better customer service experience,” she added.

At that time, Cody was with Realty Executives Associates - Land Oak office, which she had been since 2006, adding it was “awesome to me.”

Also, in 2017, she hired a real estate coach, who helped her “up my real estate game,” Cody said.

But she joined eXp in October 2018 for her team.

“It was better training, more money for (the team) and just more opportunities for all of us as a whole,” she said. “It was a decision I made with my team in mind.”

“And, when we switched companies, I knew I needed a place for my team to work, so this (location) is actually my private office,” Cody added.

Povlin noted Farragut has a lot of transplants who do not know the area.

“They always need a lot of help with understanding how

it all works in Farragut,” she

said. “I really appreciate your experience and dedication to our community.”
