Pellissippi Calhoun’s pop-up store offers take-home fresh market tastes

The Copper Cellar Family of Restaurants is offering another choice in grocery shopping with a pop-up grocery store and online shopping.

Copper Cellar restaurant group, which owns restaurants such as Chesapeake’s, 9630 Parkside Drive; Smoky Mountain Brewery, 11308 Parkside Drive; and Calhoun’s, 10020 Kingston Pike near Pellissippi Parkway, offers grocery shopping online with its Copper Cellar Marketplace site.

Shoppers can find freshly baked breads, produce, eggs, cut meats, salads, sauces, bottled water, soups, beer and more.

“If you go to our online site (calhouns.com), all those items are online,” said Mark Chase, Calhoun’s general manager. “We also have a full-size market over at Chesapeake’s on Parkside Drive.”

“Just call in your order and we’ll bring it to you curbside or deliver it to your home,” the Copper Cellar website stated.

“We’re doing everything we can just to keep some people going and some people employed, and — quite frankly — to give hope,” Chase said.

“We started into it about a (few) weeks ago, when all this (coronavirus/COVID-19) really started ramping up,” he added.

“We wanted to get ahead of it, get a jump on it, and give people another option.”
