35 North — located at Admirals Corner — is closing out the old year and ringing in the new by hosting its grand opening tonight, Thursday, Dec. 31.

“There is not another unique concept like this in East Tennessee,” assistant manager Andrew Dorcas added.

The brand-new complex, located at the corner of Kingston Pike and North Campbell Station Road, has been a project more than 18 months in the making and has been accomplished through partnerships among many Farragut residents, starting with partners/co-owners Doug Justus, Carlos Cortez and Don Coffey.

Others are Jenkins and Styles (Bart Jenkins, construction company owner), Marshanda Pinchok (owner, Marshanda Pinchok Interiors) and Brian Nicholson of Studio Four Design, who came up with the building design.

“We could not have done it without the great team we have who are also part of the community,” Cortez said.

35 North — so named for its latitude coordinates in Farragut — is located in the heart of Farragut where the new Admirals Corner development replaces a defunct Phillips 66 convenience store with a unique brick 11,000-square-foot building, including wings fronting both Kingston Pike and Campbell Station Road, spreading from two sides of a circular centerpiece rotunda.

35 North occupies approximately 7,000 square feet on the Kingston Pike side of the building, including the rotunda.

A large paver parking lot behind the building is accessible from both Campbell Station and Kingston Pike and leads to the main courtyard, which is one of two exterior-lighted patios.

The one-of-a-kind courtyard features a large amount of outdoor seating, turf that looks and feels like grass, and an oversized outdoor wood-burning fireplace flanked by a large garage that brings the outdoors indoor.

“As long as we have a typical East Tennessee winter, this will be a great place to gather,” said Justus, noting the fireplace and multiple heating units will maintain comfort during colder nights.

Inside the two-story rotunda, 35 North features a unique circular bar with a mix of comfortable seating options. More than 30 beers and wines are offered on tap along with an extensive whiskey/bourbon selection.

According to general manager Ryan Hartwell, 35 North will continue to expand its offerings in the coming year, noting that “we have a lot of stuff you just can’t get anywhere else.”

A rotating selection of local food trucks — completely unique to Farragut and West Knoxville — will offer different food selections daily.

Current hours are 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. seven days a week.

Justus said the business is designed “for a whole family experience, from date night to coming by after church, to watching football games and bringing by the baseball teams. It was our goal from the beginning to offer this all-inclusive option to the community.”

“It is a one of a kind, and we are excited to bring it to the area.”
