Kitchen fire spreads in area residence

At 3:48 p.m., Friday, Jan. 8, Rural Metro Fire responded to a reported house fire at 11009 Wellesley Lane just outside of Farragut.

“When crews arrived they saw smoke coming from the roof line and windows. The one occupant had already self-evacuated and was treated on the scene for possible smoke inhalation,” a R-M press release stated. ”Firefighters discovered a kitchen fire that had extended into the attic. The fire was extinguished quickly. (It) ventilated through the roof, reducing the amount of damage inside the house. No other injuries were reported, and the cause of the fire is under investigation.”
