Concord United Methodist Church’s annual Mission Blitz impacted thousands, both locally and abroad, through the efforts of 480 volunteers who worked on more than a dozen projects,

both at the church (11020 Roane Drive) and throughout the community Friday through Monday, Jan. 14-17. Efforts ranged from two sweet potato crop drops (bagging a total of 42,000 pounds of the vegetables), to prepping a new church-sponsored Thrift Store, preparing activity kits for East Tennessee Children’s Hospital and United Methodist Committee on Relief health kits for later distribution, as well as packing soup, visiting Senior adults and honoring area first responders. Pictured are just a few of the activities taking place during the Martin Luther King holiday weekend, which the church graciously shared with farragutpress.
