KCSOreports

• At 9:58 a.m., Monday, March 21, a Knox County Sheriff’s Officer responded to a business along Kingston Pike in reference to a counterfeit bill that had been used to purchase products. Complainant, who said she is the assistant manager, gave the officer a sealed envelope, which she said contained the bill, the receipt from the transaction and a burned DVD of camera footage from the time of the incident. Envelope will be turned in to property lockers at Knox County Jail. Amount printed on the bill was not disclosed.

• At 1:36 a.m., Sunday, March 20, two officers responded to Ridgeland Drive address regarding a drunken individual. Suspect/eventual arrestee “was loudly knocking and yelling at the door of the residence,” the report stated. On approach and after speaking with the arrestee, officers observed him to have trouble standing without leaning on something, slurred speech and glassy eyes. Eventual arrestee said he was visiting from Illinois with friends at this address, but they would not let him inside after he returned from a night out. Complainant said his friend was visiting from Illinois and was letting him stay at his residence as a guest. But when the arrestee came home intoxicated, he was acting erratically and causing the complainant to fear for the safety of his wife and children in the residence.

So when the arrestee went outside, the complainant locked him out and told the arrestee he could not come inside. Once officers were on scene, the complainant offered to pay for a night at a nearby hotel, which the arrestee initially agreed to accept. Officers transported the arrestee to 816 North Campbell Station Road (Holiday Inn Express), but the hotel refused the arrestee due to his belligerence.

After being refused, the arrestee repeatedly stated he would return to the complainant’s residence, which the officers informed him multiple times was not an option, and the arrestee attempted multiple times to re-enter the hotel that refused him. Due to the arrestee “presenting a clear danger to himself and others in his intoxicated state” according to the report, officers took the arrestee into custody for public intoxication.
