Bluegrass on Lawn a success

Despite a strong wind and chill in the air, Town of Farragut’s inaugural Bluegrass on the Lawn drew a crowd to Mayor Ralph McGill Plaza Saturday, March 26.

“The event was a big success, bringing families out to the Plaza to enjoy an afternoon of music,” Farragut Tourism coordinator Karen Tindal said.

She estimated between 150 and 175 people turned out for the show.

“There were about 20 different musicians from the East Tennessee Bluegrass Association, ranging from beginners to seasoned performers,” Tindal said. “Evie Andrus, the president of the association, was thrilled with the turnout of musicians as well as the crowd.

“We at the East Tennessee Bluegrass Association had a great time at Bluegrass on the Lawn,” Andrus said.

“Thanks to everyone who came out to play and listen, even in the crazy wind. See you guys next time!”

“We will definitely plan for another Bluegrass on the Lawn, as well as other events that will feature talented local musicians from other genres,” Tindal said. “We are always looking for ways to showcase the beautiful Plaza.”
