• I read the Letter to the Editor in the April 26 farragutpress. The writer asked very good questions. Shouldn’t the Town have public workshops so the people that live on McFee Road could have been heard before this (park) was budgeted?

There is a new mixed-use development named Property Crossing that’s being built near Watt Road, and it will feature 12 turfed ballfields that will be lighted, and it will have indoor arenas. Add a dozen or more hotels, restaurants and retail stores — all privately funded.

Why did the Town want to compete with the superior athletic facility that is privately funded? (A privately owned property near the Kingston Pike/Campbell Station Road intersection) would make a nice place for a park. And so would the remaining Biddle land that is south of South Campbell Station Road.

Why should the Town build another park on the Loudon County line? It doesn’t seem to make sense.
