Having “just a bit more amenities” to offer at its flagship location, Autumn Care Senior Living, 400 Herron Road along North Campbell Station Road in Farragut, has been celebrating a special occasion since mid-July: the facility’s fifth anniversary.

While raving about such amenities and how this 50-apartment, 40,000-square foot/two level facility is “beautiful,” Pam Estes, ACSL vice president of marketing, filled in lots of details about quality living.

“In our community, we focus on upscale senior living,” she said. “We love serving the Farragut community. … And of course, we have people that are from out of state as well. We have people from all over who’ve come here to our community.”

Successfully striving for excellence includes “our dining,” Estes said. “Our dining is what we call restaurant style. And we have three chef-prepared meals per day, top notch. Our meals are wonderful. We have farm-to-table (produce) whenever possible, especially in the summertime. All organic, healthy, farm-to-table.”

Overall, “it feels like resort living,” Estes said. “We have lots of outdoor spaces. We focus a lot on our wonderful program, what we call life enrichment program.

“Our life enrichment program includes things like live entertainment, professionals that come in and play music for our residents,” she added. “We have bus trips that we do; we do outings. We, in fact, go to the Tennessee Theatre once a month. There’s a Seniors Day at the Tennessee Theatre.”

Beyond Knox County “We like to get out and drive to the Smoky Mountains,” Estes said. “We can go on picnics.

“We just feel like there’s a lot of life to live and we just want to keep living it.”

As for intensity of care, “We have independent living here, where people still drive — and they just they love the community feeling, and they have their friends here and activities and things to do — and they’re not being isolated in their homes, so they love that part,” the ACSL marketing VP said.

“And then we have assisted living, where we can help people all the way up to assisting them to a second level of care,” she added. “In other words, if people are restrained and they have to be in a wheelchair and things of that nature, we have a full nursing staff — health-care monitoring by our nursing staff.

“We have housekeeping for them. We have all the utilities included. We also provide transportation for scheduled medical appointments. So we have a lot of amenities and things to offer folks that is just included in our pricing.”

As for how Autumn Care Farragut is marking five years, “You could say we are celebrating by running special rates locked in for five years, all inclusive,” Estes said.

When it comes to feedback, “Our residents absolutely love it here,” Estes said. “Every time I do a tour with a new person or new people, the residents are the ones selling the building, not me. I mean, they are a product of who we are and our philosophy and how we like to just cater to our seniors. So it’s wonderful.

“They will tell people stories all day long, like how much they love it here and how nice the people are and how it’s so beautiful and they love the food,” she added.

One of Autumn Care’s most senior residents, Edith Muldrew, turned 100 July 14.

“We had a big birthday party for her,” Estes said. “We had the Sheriff’s (Office) volunteers here — and, of course, friends and family.”

“We also always welcome walk-ins if anybody would like to come and take a tour and just see what we’re doing over here,” Estes said. “We would love it.”
