• Chalk the Plaza, a celebration of creativity, community and fun, happens at Mayor Ralph McGill Park, 101 N. Campbell Station Road, from 1 to 6 p.m., Saturday, May 31.
“Enjoy delicious bites from food trucks, browse unique pieces from local art vendors and let the little ones have a blast in the kids’ zone — all while watching talented artists transform the sidewalks into stunning masterpieces,” a Town press release stated. “Our mini art market and food trucks will be available from 1 to 6 p.m., while our artists are hard at work.
“This fun and lighthearted competition is perfect for amateur artists,” the release further stated. “Participants will check in at 10 a.m. to begin their sidewalk masterpiece. If you’re competing with a group or class, only one person needs to complete the registration form. Registration is open; go to townoffarragut.recdesk.com and look for Chalk the Plaza Competition. “We are looking for local artists to join in on the fun of this event with a mini art market.”
• Dixie Lee Farmers Market is well under way with its Outdoor Farmers Market Season from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. each Saturday through Nov. 1 at The Reniassance - Farragut, 12740 Kingston Pike.
