• At 5:56 p.m., Monday, May 5, a Knox County Sheriff’ Office unit was dispatched to 10745 Kingston Pike (Costco), in reference to a dispute at the gas pumps. Victim/complainant said she was “throwing trash away near the pumps and a man appeared agitated at her doing so,” the report stated. “She said something to him about being able to go around her, and according to the victim, the man ‘revved his engine’ in her direction causing her to leap out of the way before putting the vehicle in reverse and driving to (the) Costco (store). Victim “located the man’s car to confront him and call police. “Before my arrival, the man came out of the store and left the scene.”
• At 6:06 a.m., Sunday, May 4, an officer responded to a Broadwood Drive residence in reference to a fraud call. Victim/complainant advised he had been scammed out of $100,000. The victim said two days prior he was contacted by an unknown male suspect who convinced him that his financial institutions system had been hacked.
The unknown suspect convinced the victim to make several withdraws from three of his bank accounts and his 401K totaling $100,000. Victim said two unknown males came to his residence, where he gave them the money, showing up in separate vehicles, one that was light colored and one that was dark colored.
