TPO study advises Town, Hardin Valley road revamps thru ’50
(First of two parts: four local plans through 2035)
With Farragut and Hardin Valley road improvements prominent in its long-range planning for the next quarter century, Mobility Plan 2050 was adopted by Knoxville Regional TPO Executive Board at its meeting Wednesday, April 30.
“This long-range transportation plan will guide infrastructure investments over the next 25 years and allows federal money to be received for them,” a TPO press release stated. “It is updated every four years to account for changes in community and regional priorities, technology, project costs and available funding.
“This plan ensures the best decisions are being made for our communities so that we can all get from Point A to Point B safely and efficiently,” said Doug Burton, TPO coordinator. “Now that the plan has been adopted, these projects can begin to move through the development process.”
“The projects were selected and prioritized after consideration of both technical analysis and public input, with a focus on safety, modernization, congestion management and efficiency,” the TPO release stated.
