18 events to be represented by FHS track & field at state
Farragut High Schools boys and girls track and field athletes representing 18 events and more than 20 athletes qualified for state during the Sectional 1-2A meet at Johnson City Science Hill High School Saturday, May 10. The top four each qualified for state.
Champions were Pole vault, Katie Edmunds, senior, 10-foot-0; 800-meter run, Evan Beeler, senior, 1:53.37; 1600 run, Beeler, 4:14.08; 4 X 400 boys relay, 3:21.24; high jump, Chase McAvoy, 6-foot-2; and shot put, Bryce Thompson, senior, 59-feet-9.75.
Runner-ups were, decathlon, McAvoy; 3200 run, Tanner Coggin, senior; discus, Thompson; 400 dash, Ava Barczak, junior; 3200 run, Kenzie Lefler, senior; 300 hurdles, Ryleigh Howe, junior; shot put, Annie Steele, junior.
