TPO Mobility Plan: Town, Hardin Valley revamps ’40 thru ’50

(Final of two parts featuring 2040 to 2050 improvements)

Farragut and Hardin Valley road improvements are prominent in long-range planning for the next quarter century in Knoxville Regional TPO Mobility Plan 2050, which was adopted by its Executive Board at its meeting Wednesday, April 30.

• 2040: Interstate 40/75 Interchange to and from Campbell Station Road, 5.3 miles, widen from six to eight lanes; $60,239,768, funded by NHPP.

• 2040: Interstate 40/75 Interchange to and from Campbell Station Road, 0.4 mile; reconstruct existing interchange to a diverging diamond with new alignment to improve capacity, safety and operations. Project includes widening of Campbell Station Road through the interchange from three through lanes to five; $202,275,925, funded by NHPP.

• 2040: North Campbell Station Road improvements; 3.3. miles; widening and realignment of North Campbell Station Road from 1-40/75 exchange north to Hardin Valley Road; $41,484,726, funded by L-STBG.

• 2040: Interstate 40/75 Interchange to and from Watt Road, 0.5 mile; reconstruct existing interchange to a Single Point Urban interchange to improve capacity, safety and operations. Project includes widening of Watt Road through the interchange from three lanes to four lanes plus turn lanes between Palestine Lane and Everett Road; $61,800,000, funded by 10-Year Plan/TMA.

2040: Harvey Road realignment and railroad overpass; 0.2 miles; an overpass connecting Harvey Road, at Sanderling Lane, with McFee Road at Red Poppy Drive; $19,595,480, funded by L-STBG.

2050: Construct eastbound and westbound auxiliary lanes between interchanges at Campbell Station Road and Lovell Road; 1.4 miles; $28,232,809, funded by NHPP.
