KCSOreports

• At 6:39 p.m., Tuesday, May 20, Knox County Sheriff’s Office units officers responded “to the area of 12001 Kingston Pike (Weigels) in reference to an intoxicated male walking in and out of traffic on Kingston Pike,” the report stated.

“Upon arrival, officers circulated the immediate area where I observed a male matching the description given to E-911 dispatch by the complainant at the intersection of Kingston Pike and Fox Den Boulevard,” the report further stated.” I observed the male sitting on the ground next to the busy roadway with his legs stretched out almost into westbound traffic of Kingston Pike. I identified the (suspect).

“I observed a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from his person, his eyes to be bloodshot and glassy and a strong slurred speech pattern. Further, I observed the front of his pants to be saturated in urine.” Given “the likelihood he would continue to walk into the heavy traffic on Kingston Pike, and being a danger to himself and others, I placed (him) into custodial arrest in lieu of a written citation.”
