Class of 2025 top performers rewarded during annual FHS Senior Awards presentation

Farragut High School celebrated its brightest seniors during its annual Senior Awards ceremony in Vickie B. Wells Auditorium at FHS Thursday, May 15.

Katherine Evans received a $2,500 P.E.O. International STAR Scholarship from P.E.O. member Robyn Rivers.

“In the face of some adversity she has persevered and achieved much success,” said Allison Maldonado, Spanish teacher and faculty advisor for the National Spanish Honor Society and National Honor Society. “That is the first time P.E.O. has given that award.”

Katie also received the University of Tennessee Presidential Award. Abby Doyle, Grace Doyle and Joanna Gao also received the scholarship.

Band members Grace Doyle and Audrey Aiken each received the Michael David Green Scholarship from the family of the late Michael David Greene, who played the trumpet in the FHS Marching and Concert bands. At 14, he was diagnosed with a malignant brain tumor and died when he was 16. His family set up the scholarship to two worthy band students.

Farragut athletes Bryce Thompson and Alisa Bryant each earned a Charlotte and Lendon Welch Scholarship..

Other awards: • Henry Dee received the Evan Richey Memorial Scholarship and the Commercial Bank Spirit Scholarship;

• Sophia Kovalevskaya, who received the Kiwanis Andy Hutson Service Award, raising money to bring her family here from Ukraine;

• Sadie Pastor, Aryan Patel, Daniel Zhang, Shaun Allred, Michelangelo Cambie-Fabris, Maksim Gamolins and Joshua Green each received a Ned McWherter Scholarship;

• Emily Carpenter, Robbie Jacobs and Kaitlyn Mee received the Cedar Bluff-Farragut Optimist Award;

• National Achievers Society Stole to Tiyanna Dudley;

• Rose Yagodzinski received the Lafayette and Pearl Hubbs Memorial Scholarship, which was endowed by the late Virginia Palmer, an FHS graduate, in memory of her parents;

• Jonathan Moreno received the Lenoir City Utilities Board Scholarship and Sadie Watkins earned the Shoup Scholarship;

• U.S. Presidential Scholars semifinalists: Daniel Zhang, Hayden Toon and Henry Dee;

• Rising Tide Award winners were seniors Ethan Morrison, Shaun Allred, Sam Clem and Louis Gutierrez;

• Robert Jacobs, Maria Kochan, Loryn Neeley, Bailey Redmond and Nicholas Snyder received a Tennessee Tech Presidential Scholarship;

• Middle Tennessee State University scholarships went to Abigail Hamilton, Evan King and Louis Gutierrez;

• Maryville College scholarships was earned by Kaitlyn Redwine and Randon Miller;

• Varrun Prakash received the University of Tennessee, Knoxville Distinguished Tennesseean Scholarship;

• Lucy Beck received the Great West Casualty Scholarship; Ashton Brey earned the Hagan Scholarship;

• Shae Parsons received the Roane State RaiderReady Academic Excellence Scholarship;

• Meira Desai earned the East Tennessee State University Quillen Honors Scholar Program scholarship.
