Pearl Scott sets early Aug. goal

Langer finds a business way to honor her late grandmother

To honor her late grandmother, a nurse practitioner/co-owner is opening Pearl Scott Health & Beauty, which combines a concierge medical practice with beauty services at 11048 Kingston Pike the beginning of August.

“I’ve always been interested in beauty my whole life,” co-owner Jill Langer said. “But the name, Pearl Scott, is after my grandmother, and she worked at a Clinique makeup counter for 25 years.

“I’ve always appreciated good skincare and taking really good care of people,” she added. “So the name (of the business) is after (Mrs. Scott), and I’m just excited to bring some new services, like SoftWave, a new, cutting-edge technology for face and body tightening and contouring.”

A unique feature of the business is that she also will be providing concierge medicine.

“It’s based on a membership (cash pay) program,” Langer explained. “It’s offering primary care services to patients. There’s immediate access for patients (and) lower cost.”

As such, she said the clinic does not accept insurance.

Langer said if someone has a mild illness, he or she would be able to come in immediately and receive care at the Pearl Scott clinic.

“We’ll also be offering IV therapy,” Langer added. “So if someone has the flu and they want to come in, they can get an IV of some immune ingredients, and they can get the medication they need.”

The concierge medicine aspect makes it more personalized to cut down on the hassle of visiting a doctor office, she added.

“This is just the doctor and the patient,” Langer said. “The membership model is a reasonable, small monthly fee. Doing that, you have access to your provider, your yearly physicals, your visits. If you have a stuffy nose or a sinus infection, you can pop in or call (for appointment).”

The clinic also provides blood work and incorporates services, such as bio-identical hormone replacement, peptides, vitamins and wellness products — all in a “one-stop shop,” Langer said.

Additionally, it provides aesthetic services, such as anti-aging, Botox injections, fillers, different skincare lines and bio-stimulators, “which are like traditional fillers.”

However, “traditional fillers are made of hyaluronic acid, which is hydrating your body, making it look lush and plump,” Langer said.

“Bio-stimulators are injected like fillers, but cause your body to regenerate itself,” she added. “We’re just hoping to care for the entire person — inside and out.”

Currently, “we are working on honing in our services here,” Langer added.

The clinic will be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, by appointment, but hours may vary to accommodate patients.

“We encourage people to call the same day if they need an appointment,” she said. “We will always try to accommodate as much as we can.”
