Snooty Patootie is on the move

Excitement is in the air as Snooty Patootie Boutique’s team prepares to move into its new location next week.

“We’re so excited,” Snooty Patootie owner Kay McGinnis said about moving from the store’s present location at 11110 Kingston Pike, near Sam & Andy’s, to 11134 Kingston Pike, located beside Wendy’s. “We’re pretty much doubling our space (from 2,400 square feet to 4,722 square feet).”

She said the store will open Monday, July 21, with a grand opening Friday and Saturday, July 25-26. A ribbon-cutting, sponsored by Farragut West Knox Chamber of Commerce, is slated for 11 a.m., Thursday, July 24.

“(The grand opening) is going to be a lot of fun,” McGinnis said. “We’re going to have food trucks, all kinds of giveaways, door prizes. It will be a big event.”

With the new location, “we’ll be in a stand-alone building, so that alone is amazing,” she said. “We’ve got a lot more parking; we’re right on Kingston Pike,

as far as road appeal — a bigger presence there — so yes, we’re very excited.

“We feel we’ll get a lot more customers who probably didn’t know we existed (in its current location),” McGinnis added.

About why she is moving, “we wanted to grow in Farragut,” McGinnis said. “There’s a need there. We love our customers; we love Farragut, and we just need more space.”

In its 10th year at 11110 Kingston Pike — the store opened in 2015 and expanded in 2018 — the owner observed the store has outgrown the space.

“We’re excited about the opportunity to grow in Farragut,” said McGinnis, who operates the family-run shop with her daughter, Hayley Gurley, and daughter-in-law, Abbie McGinnis.

The shop sells boutique items, such as clothing, jewelry, accessories and gifts — while her other shop, Snooty Patootie Lifestyle Stockroom at 11210 Outlet Drive, carries furniture and home décor. McGinnis said the Outlet Drive merchandise will remain the same.

However, at the Kingston Pike location, “we’re growing the boutique side of the business,” she said. “We are changing it a little bit. We will bring some home décor in — not furniture — and we’re adding baby and children’s clothes to the new location.

“We’ll be expanding our gifts (line) as well,” McGinnis added.

One thing she said will not change is the personalized service she and her team provides to each customer to maintain its small business atmosphere.

“Everyone knows (the custom-

ers’) names,” McGinnis said.

The new shop’s hours will stay the same, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday; from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturdays; and closed Sundays.
