• “Boyd Station Road will be closed to through traffic for approximately two months, (which began) Monday, July 28, from McFee Road to Willow Cove Way,” according to a Town of Farragut press release from Wendy Smith, Communications manager, concerning road construction. “Through traffic will be detoured via Evans Road and McFee Road.
“This road closure is for construction of roadway improvements as part of the development of The Grove at Boyd Station subdivision,” she added.
• Many of the world’s top distance diving dogs will, once again, be back in Farragut, as Dock Dogs International features Dog Daze IX @ Village Green Presented by TDS — once again in mid-August and once again to be located in Village Green shopping center parking lot, 11435 Kingston Pike. in front of Planet Fitness. Dates are Friday, Aug. 15, through Sunday, Aug. 17.
“There will be over 400 jumps with 150 competitors — and new this year will be ‘Dueling Dogs,’” which replaces the former “Pooch Plunge” with “Canine Water Racing” Aug. 15, a press release stated from Shop Farragut/Farragut Business Alliance, event coordinator, in cooperation with Smoky Mountain Dock Dogs and Ricki’s Pet Depot.
