Dawgs continue their successful season, go 13-0

Murfreesboro – Two lopsided wins at the Adidas Shootout at Riverdale helped the Bearden High School boys basketball team keep its perfect record intact late last week.

The Bulldogs improved to 13-0 with a victory over Murfreesboro-Oakland on Saturday.

Bearden had four players post double figures in the scoring column against the Patriots but coach Jeremy Parrott was far from pleased after his squad’s 81-62 victory.

“Not our best game from an offensive standpoint,” Parrott said. “Same on the defensive side, but we made

just enough plays a good bit throughout.”

Justin Nordin and Sean Capshaw scored 17 points apiece against Oakland while Theo Mills added 13 points and Carson Asbaty finished with 12.

Parrott noted he was pleased with Mills’ performance.

“We got a good all-around effort from Theo Mills in this one,” he said. “And, I would like to see more of that from him.”

Bearden opened tournament play with a 68-48 win over Ravenwood on Friday.

Nordin led the way for the Raptors with 20 points. Brendan Murphy added 16 and Asbaty had 15.

“This was a good win for us versus a physical team,” Parrott said.
