Board retreat charts 2026 vision

Farragut Board of Mayor and Aldermen spent nearly eight hours in a retreat-style workshop Friday, Jan. 23, discussing priorities and project initiatives for the Town.

The session took place in a classroom at Turkey Creek Medical Center.

Mayor Ron Williams said he would like to see a “roundabout at the north side of the tunnel at McFee Park.”

With that, he would like to see a park/tourism office near the tunnel.

The mayor also would like to see a social media fact page with past and present and before-and-after accomplishments “to showcase our Town.”

Alderman Drew Burnette said he would like to see the Town connect key greenways, trails and sidewalks, development of the new McFee park land and progress on the interstate interchange.

Alderman Alex Cain said he would like to see Public Works and Park equipment replaced or improved to reduce maintenance costs; work completed on the Boring Road-Kingston Pike intersection and a traffic control device at Smith and Boring roads before the new school is built. He also would like to see the wayfinding – new signs directing people to Town attractions – completed.

Alderman Joe LaCrox said he would like to have sidewalks installed in the parent responsibility zones; buildout of the new park near McFee Road; completion of Turkey Creek road improvements; a greenway on Concord Road, on the west side connecting to Biddle Farms at Town Center; full implementation of a dark fiber lease; decorative lighting in the Town Center near Concord Road.

Vice Mayor Scott Meyer said he would like to see a stop light at Grigsby Chapel Road and St. John Court, sound barriers installed between Interstate 40 and the North Ward subdivisions.
