Girls soccer stars earn All-State honors
Recently, the Tennessee Sports Writers’ Association released its All-State selections for girls soccer in 2025.
Several standouts made the cut for their hard work on the pitch last season.
The Farragut area dominated the list in Class AAA, as five players found themselves as All-State selections — four from Bearden High alone.
Bearden senior forward and Tennessee signee Jayla Blue was one of them, having set a new school record for career goals (135, 33 last year) while leading Bearden to its fourth Class AAA state championship in five years.
BHS keeper Sophie Keener was also an All-State pick, contributing to 17 shutouts last season. She allowed nine goals on the year but did not give up a single score in Bearden’s final seven contests.
Bearden’s Emma Rainey also earned All-State, serving on a Bulldog defense that allowed just 10 goals in 23 games. Also, Rainey scored her first-ever goal in a key postseason win over Oak Ridge.
Fellow Lady Bulldog standout Tyler Roth earned All-State as well, as the Western Kentucky signee set a single-season record in assists (33 with 17 goals).
The area’s lone Class AAA All-State selection not from Bearden was Hardin Valley senior forward Morgan Holloway, who earned District 4-AAA Offensive Player of the Year. She had team-highs with 19 goals and 12 assists, pacing HVA in a run to the district semifinals.
Concord Christian midfielder Delaney Walker was the lone area selection in Division II-A, having earned MVP honors for the East region last year. She tallied six goals and eight assists as CCS advanced to the state sectionals (quarterfinals).
In Division II-AA, Webb sophomore keeper Lauren Newell earned All-State after giving up just 14 goals on the year.
Spartan junior Mary Mac Emery, another All-State pick, was similarly effective in helping Webb reach the state championship for the second straight year.
Webb sophomore Simone Romain earned All-State honors too, and the same went for senior McKalie Ball, a Louisville signee, who led the team in scoring at 19 goals and six assists.
