KCS honors Teachers, Principals of the Year
Nearly 200 teachers and principals from across Knox County Schools recently were honored at the annual KCS Teacher of the Year banquet, held at the Knoxville Convention Center.
Recipients were nominated by their peers and selected using Tennessee Department of Education’s guidelines for Teacher of the Year. Teachers from every school and principals from every region were represented.
Among the 200, the following principal and three educators from West Knoxville’s Region 1 area were recognized:
A.L. Lotts Elementary: Tracy Marsh, principal; Amy Jo Evers, Megan Noe and Amanda Phipps; Bearden High School: Shannon Fussaro, Tonya Leigh Henke, Stephanie Panczer Garza, Kristen Skates, S.P. Webb; Farragut High School: Julie Dorsey, Al Fontenot, Jake Gulledge, Lizzi Kersey and Whitney Parson; Farragut Middle: Ashley Collins, Brian Fogarty, Katie Rickard and Lauren Rutherford; Farragut Intermediate: Lacey Bullard, Kristin Hobbs and Hannah Reddick; Farragut Primary: Genie Borrego, Amber Roberts and Danielle Sanchez; Northshore Elementary: Aleigh Diegel, Emily Morsch and Maria Stephanie Turpin.
Additionally, the following teachers and principals in Region 2 were honored: Hardin Valley Academy: Jennifer Galloway, Kaitlyn Gaskins, Malcolm Gibbs, Lisa Jacobs and Holly Wilgus; Hardin Valley Elementary: Barbara Hughes, Andrea Johnson and Claire Johnson; Hardin Valley Middle: Kimberly Mink, Nicole Pendleton and Chris Schaefer.
