Farragut shines in Florida
During the second week of the 2026 season, three local baseball teams tested themselves in tournament play.
Farragut (5-1) spent Spring Break in Fort Walton Beach, Florida, winning three of four games. The Admirals opened with back-to-back wins over The Bennett School, 8-4 and 8-5, behind strong performances from Cole Creasman, Jake Harris and Brandon Tye. Farragut also topped Providence School, 5-2, as Mason Shelton homered and Harris added three hits. The Ads’ lone loss came against Bishop Snyder, 11-0, in a game marred by four errors.
“Overall, I thought we played pretty well,” coach Garrett Copeland said.
Bearden (5-3) competed in the Playing for the Cure Tournament, going 2-3. The Bulldogs earned a 10-0 no-hit win over West Ridge and a 15-6 victory against Station Camp but dropped games to Heritage, Grace Christian and Science Hill. Eli Pickard, Hunter Harris and Grayson Wright paced the offense.
“We’re going to have to find ways to score runs,” coach Dave Prichard said.
Hardin Valley (4-2) split four games at the Prospect U Showdown in Panama City Beach. The Hawks highlighted the trip with a no-hitter from Nathan Emard and a 23-13 win over Cottondale with Jax Sparks and Tyler Sowards leading the way.
