Spring break offers mixed results for Lady Ads

Farragut’s softball team made the most of its Spring Break trip, going 4-3 at the Commando Classic in Hendersonville.

The Lady Admirals (6-3) rebounded from a 5-0 opening loss to the host team with

an 8-2 win over Dobyns-Bennett. Hannah Grace Johnson threw a complete game, allowing one hit and no earned

runs while striking out six. Logan Jameson, Rylee Raby and Taylor Wolfgram led the offense.

Farragut dropped a 3-0 game to Creek Wood but bounced back Friday, blanking Edwardsville 6-0 behind another strong outing from Johnson, who struck out seven. The Lady Admirals also edged Oakland 4-3 on Johnson’s go-ahead hit and slipped past Christ Presbyterian Academy, 5-4, as Johnson homered and Camryn Shrader added two doubles.

Farragut closed the tournament with a 6-3 loss to Independence despite home runs from Camryn Shrader and a strong showing from Alexa Shrader.

“We played some good teams and beat some good teams,” coach Nick Green said.

Elsewhere, Bearden (2-2, 1-1 District 4-4A) last defeated Harriman 4-2 after splitting earlier games while Hardin Valley (0-3) returns to action March 18 against South-Doyle after an idle week.
