Holistic health businesses team up in Farragut

Two new health-related businesses are teaming up to share space in Farragut.

Haven Chiropractic and Wellness and Chronically Healthy, LLC, are sharing the building at 11320 Kingston Pike, located beside Rick Terry Jewelry Designs and formerly West Knox Chiropractic Group, which was run for 37 years by Dr. Alan Lensgraf, who decided to retire in January.

Dr. Colin Hickey and wife, Dr. Kari Hickey, both chiropractors, opened their practice in January, taking over Lensgraf’s practice.

“He’ll be sorely missed in the community,” Colin said of Lensgraf.

Haven offers a variety of different services.

“My philosophy is I’m going to do whatever your body needs,” Colin said. “I prefer to give manual-style adjustments, which is amazing. We do the original Palmer package, but we also know that everybody’s body is different.

“We have the drop table … we have the activator [spring-loaded adjustment tool] ,” he said. “We do extremity adjustments” and more.

Kari brings a unique skill to the practice, as she offers chiropractic services to animals — dogs, cats and even goats.

Haven Chiropractic & Wellness’ hours are by appointment and can be contacted at 865-643-1313, info@havenchiropracticandwellness.com or havenchiropracticandwellness.com

Erica Anderson, a certified autoimmune health coach, and Dillon Searcy, a certified integrative nutrition and health coach, co-own Chronically Health.

“Chronically Healthy’s been around since May 2023, Anderson said. “We were at a chiropractic office in Powell.”

Prior to that, they did Zoom sessions with clients.

“Right when we were growing out of that space, Dr. Clint Whitler was also moving to another chiropractic office.”

At the same time, “We had always been friends with Drs. Colin and Kari for years and always talked about coming together and having a full multi-holistic modality space,” she said. Joining the Hickeys at the Kingston Pike location “worked out.”

“We are health coaches but from a functional medicine perspective,” Anderson said. “We help people get to the root cause of their symptoms.

“We have testing that our doctor is able to order for us,” she said. “So, very detailed bloodwork, GI maps, Dutch hormone tests, DNA testing, all the tools we need to help actually get to the root cause of why you might be tired or gain weight and you don’t understand what’s going on.

“So many times, people go to the doctor to get their blood drawn, and they’re told, ‘Oh, everything looks normal” even though you feel terrible.

“We help you figure out what’s actually normal, what’s actually optimal for you,” she added.

“Everything we do is science-backed,” Searcy said. “Your lab work is driving what we’re doing. So, it’s not just a matter of us feeling we’re going in the right direction, the body’s chemistry is showing us, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that everything is going in the right direction; and if something isn’t going in the right direction, we know where to pivot and where the holdup is.

“With our practice here, we’ve got a couple doctors where everything goes through,” Searcy said. The labs and other work done is gone over by the doctors, and the medical directing board is Qualify.
