New Director set to lead

On Wednesday, April 8, Ashley Lynch was introduced as the new executive director for Shop Farragut/Farragut Business Alliance.

She replaces Vic Scott, who submitted her letter of resignation on April 4 to accept more responsibility with her primary job.

Lynch brings plenty of experience to the role, having worked with Shop Farragut president Candace Viox on a number of committees for more than five years.

Before being voted in as executive director, Lynch addressed the Shop Farragut board at Wednesday’s meeting. She mentioned she and both of her parents are Farragut High School graduates and she has lived in Farragut her entire life.

“She has an amazing reputation and has worked with several events, The Pinnacle, was born and raised in Farragut, and loves our Town and businesses and the growth that’s happened in our community,” Viox said. “It was a natural fit.

“We needed to make sure we have an executive director who knows and loves our Town and appreciates the value of this community organization and knows that Farragut businesses come first.”

“My life has opened up to where I can take this on,” Lynch added. “I am really excited to start this new chapter. We have plans in play, building a strong foundation and building trust among people in Farragut. We want to move forward to growth of all the things that are possible with the Farragut Business Alliance.”

Lynch said she plans to visit all the different businesses in the Town to get feedback. After that, she plans to discuss future steps with Viox and others on the board.

“We want to consistently brand to where everything is cohesive and then work from that,” Lynch said.

Viox mentioned the Farragut business mixer on May 5. That Tuesday, from 4:30 to 6 p.m., people can visit Farragut Community Center to meet Lynch and find out more about the organization — which is separate from Visit Farragut and the Farragut West Knox Chamber.

“That will be our announcement to the Town and our community to come meet Ashley,” Viox said. “So you can ask questions about us or some of our events, like Dog Daze or the Harvest Festival, and Ashley has some events she would like to add, too.

“We may even bring back the Taste of Farragut, who knows? So we’re very excited about this next chapter. It’s going to be a good time.”
