Teague’s Jewelry & Estate opens in Farragut
“I get excited every time I come in here, FWKCC president/CEO Julie Blaylock said.
Sisters, Jana Teague and Jill Cornwell, have combined their talents to open the shop, located next to Results Physiotherapy.
“We grew up in the industry with family working in jewelry, antiques and the auction industry,” Cornwell said. In her adult life, she has been in the jewelry industry as a certified gemologist, and Teague also is a jeweler.
“I’ve been to many jewelry stores over the years, and we just thought it was time for us to get together and have our own business,’ she added.
In 2020, Teague switched career paths completely, and “Jill brought me back into the jewelry business,” Teague said. “I decided to do a bench jeweler. I do repairs and custom work.”
In addition to the jewelry aspect of the business, the sisters also offer appraisals on jewelry and buy and sell estate jewelry and other items.
Customers will find such merchandise as Waterford crystal, Spode china, clocks, antique lamps, artwork, pottery and small finds one would see at an estate sale.
“All the jewelry we sell is estate,” Cornwell said. “We also change watch batteries and do adjustments on watch links and bracelets.
“We can help you out with anything you have that has been passed down … you inherited,” she said. “You may not know what it is, and we can help you determine what it is.
“We do buy everything estate,” Cornwell added, noting they also buy and offer consignment services.
“We will help you sell your things if you don’t have an outlet to sell them,” she said.
Taking that leap of faith and opening a business, “for me, personally, I went into business for myself in early 2024, doing appraisals, which is kind of a behind the scene thing, so being here and getting the store open is great,” Cornwell said. “I get to interact with the community, be more involved and be with my sister.”
“I was looking for something different, and she said, ‘Hey, do you want to do this with me?’ I can’t say no to her,” Teague said. “She’s my older sister.
“We’re excited to really get going,” she added.
