• BarberMcMurry Architects recently promoted Matt Jordan, AIA, LFA, LEED AP, WELL AP, to director of design and partner.
Jordan joined the firm in 2008. Since that time, he has been a project designer, project architect and project manager on a variety of projects, particularly in higher education and healthcare.
He has led internal initiatives as an associate and senior associate — including efforts in sustainability and virtual reality, as well as being integral in BarberMcMurry’s annual Day of Service, (PARK)ing Day and design competitions. He was promoted to design manager and senior associate in 2023.
• Apex Bank, the No. 1 community bank in Tennessee, as ranked by ICBA, has acquired the 24-story office building, known as Riverview Tower, at 900 S. Gay St. The landmark transaction includes the connected 421-space parking garage and returns the city’s second-tallest building to local ownership for the first time in decades.
