Piranhas outpace in local meet
The Piranhas emerged with a 446-296 win that afternoon, as Jack Duby brought one highlight for Concord with a record-breaking time.
The 8-year-old speedster broke his own Concord Hills 8U boys’ 25-yard freestyle team record, notching a time of 15.22 seconds.
For Sugarwood, 12-year-old Delaney Baker edged 12-year-old Concord swimmer Brooklyn Chaney for the Stingrays’ first win of the meet.
Overall, though, it was Concord Hills that came away with the win, posting a 41 percent improvement in personal best times “despite training hard throughout last week and continuing
hard practices leading into the meet,” according to head coach Annie Abraham. “The swimmers’ dedication and effort continue to show each week as they make remarkable progress throughout the season.”
This weekend, several area swimmers will take part in the Greater Knoxville Area Interclub Swimming Association’s final meet at Allan Jones Aquatic Center Thursday through Saturday, July 23-25.
