From TV to print, Perella finds her fit in Farragut
But she is certainly no stranger to the advertising game, having worked for multiple TV stations and other media outlets before arriving in Farragut.
Now, Perella is eager to bring that acumen to the farragutpress as its newest advertising and account executive.
“The community is very intertwined, and everyone that lives here reads the farragutpress cover to cover,” Perella said. “So I want to bring some advertisers, either the ones here now or the ones I’ll be talking with, and just let them have the benefit of this audience. It’s a huge audience, and the demographics are good. Everything about it is good for an advertiser, so I hope to help them see how that will help their business.”
Perella began her media sales career with The Mountain Press in Sevierville, working there for 15 years.
After moving across the country with her husband, Perella returned to East Tennessee and took on similar roles with WATE, WTNZ and WBIR in Knoxville.
“I started out in the newspaper business, and I was in it for many years then went into TV sales,” she explained. “I lost my job in COVID-19, and I decided to come back and get into the market again when I moved to Farragut. I saw the paper, and it just spoke to me that this is where I needed to be.”
Perella has since been in Farragut for a year and has thoroughly enjoyed the area.
“We love Farragut so much,” she said. “It
just seems to be a good fit for me.”
Now, she is ready to bring lessons from her previous work into this new venture.
“The media sales business in Knoxville is a pretty tight group,” Perella said. “I think it’s really being results-oriented, thinking about how many people you have to get into the door, how many things they have to buy and what makes it profitable for their business to advertise with us. That’s the big picture that I’ve learned from all the training I’ve received.”
Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her family, especially grandsons Parker (15) and Jacoby (9).
Also, Perella has put plenty of effort into home improvement projects, where she has seen an applicability to advertising, too.
“It’s amazing, what you can do,” she said. “That’s one thing I want to do — with all the special sections and things we do, there’s a lot of room for those people to come in and help people in Farragut with these projects. I’ve really enjoyed it, and I’m looking forward to being here.”
