Farragut gets a new Degree of wellness
“We’re a premier self-care brand,” Shawn said. “Our goal here is really to create better lives in the community.”
He said Degree Wellness is doing that through technology services in self-care, and it starts as you enter the door.
“From the moment you walk in, you will see our two salt walls,” Shawn said. “That’s very intentional. You are actually breathing micro salt particles. That’s helping with everything from your bronchial system … helping you build better immunity, and it’s also good for your skin.”
The next area is the recovery lounge.
“This is where you can do compression massage, which helps the lymphatic system; aromatherapy, oxygen therapy and red light therapy,” Shauna said. “You can do all three at one time for 30 minutes.”
“Our red light facials are interesting as they offer three lights: red light, blue light and near infrared,” Shawn said. “so they are working at the dermatological area, working on better, more beautiful skin, but you’re also working on producing more collagen.
“You’re actually helping to reduce wrinkles and you’re helping revitalize the skin,” he said. “The blue light is helping the complexion.”
Another service Degree Wellness provides is IV therapy in its IV lounge.
“You can get vitamins and other advanced nutrients and essential hydration,” Shawn said. “We have about seven or eight different choices for you there.”
Shauna explained IV therapy is different from taking vitamins by mouth.
With an oral supplement, the vitamins have to pass through the digestive system first, “so you’re only getting about 20 percent of what you’re taking,” Shauna said, adding an IV drip delivers a fluid and nutrient blend directly into the blood stream via a vein.
“At Degree Wellness, every drip is ordered by a licensed medical provider after reviewing your wellness goals and health history,” she said.
There also are four contrast suites, which include an infrared sauna and a 47-degree pool.
“A contrast session is alternating between hot and cold,” Shawn said. “So we go between infrared sauna and a cold plunge.”
Also, Degree Wellness provides a cryotherapy in which you step into a chamber and discover an all-electric full-body cryotherapy experience in a three-minute session at temperatures as low as -175 degrees F.
Shawn said it helps boost metabolism, supports detox and immunity and lifts the mood through natural endorphin release.
The business is based on a membership model with different levels.
Once open, Degree Wellness will be open from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday through Friday, and from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday and Sunday.
