Farragut biz mixer scores with local businesses
It has been a busy couple of weeks for Shop Farragut/the Farragut Business Alliance (FBA).
Before hosting this past weekend’s annual Harvest Fest at Village Green Shopping Center. the organization welcomed several people for its quarterly Biz Mixer last Tuesday, Oct. 20, at TopGolf in Farragut.
The targets and golfing bays provided a fitting backdrop for the event, which landed well among all attendees at 11400 Outlet Drive.
Originally slated for 90 minutes, the event stretched from 4:30 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. that night as business owners and executives stayed past the original 6 p.m. deadline to interact and greet one another.
“The Bizness mixer at TopGolf went well,” FBA president Candace Viox said. “We had over 25 people from Farragut businesses, and new businesses came by to say hi. Joey Ruffalo, North Ward alderman, also attended. It was a great meet-up for the business community.”
Ashley Lynch, the executive director for Shop Farragut, added that “it was a really good turnout.
“People came in waves but it was a great venue and went well,” she said. “Everyone left with a prize. We had a different revolving door of new businesses, and we want to keep the momentum going. The food wasn’t bad, either, and people stayed later.”
The next mixer is slated for Tuesday, Jan. 12, weather permitting with the event set to take place at Ace Pickleball at 11130 Kingston Pike.
And much like last week’s event, Lynch and Viox will hope for plenty of connections and networking opportunities.
“That’s the great thing about the small businesses in Farragut,” Lynch said. “They all communicate and support each other. So it’s a constant networking thing, and we just keep growing and growing.”
