Shipping stop has a new captain
The event will take place from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 24, at 11519 Kingston Pike, with the ribbon cutting taking place at 11 a.m.
“I’m excited,” Pyle said. “It’s been a nice welcome. Everybody’s been very supportive and welcoming. I’m getting to know people in the community and seeing what all Farragut has to offer.”
Goin’ Postal will continue its current services, which include packing and shipping using all four major carriers — postal service, FedEx, UPS and DHL — for domestic and international — as well as shipping insurance and express services.
“We take drop-offs for all those carriers,” Pyle said. “We can accept returns through Happy Returns and Amazon.”
However, he specified Goin’ Postal cannot accept the QR codes for Amazon. “It has to have a label,” he added.
To help with shipping needs, the business also carries shipping supplies, such as boxes, tape and packing peanuts.
Goin’ Postal also provides promotional and marketing items, such as business cards and flyers, and such services as copying and printing, faxing, notary services, and shredding.
It even provides custom yard signs.
Additionally, the business has physical and virtual mailboxes, as well as retail products, such as greeting cards, gift bags, tissue paper, gift items and office supplies.
Pyle acquired the business Tuesday, Sept. 1. In addition to taking ownership at Goin’ Postal, he is chief operating officer with Weatherly Consulting, a nuclear operation consulting firm in Oak Ridge.
When he learned Goin’ Postal was for sale, it “was a great opportunity to be a part of the community and help people in a different way than I was doing in my other job … something that was the right time, right place to see it for sale,” he said.
Pyle said his goal at Goin’ Postal is “to continue what was already built. There’s a strong customer base and a lot of the community already recognizes it as a place to come to bring their packages to ship out and not only that but provide promotional and marketing items.
“We like to partner with other small businesses — small businesses helping other small businesses is part of what we do, helping them with their promotional and marketing needs,” he said.
Goin’ Postal is open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday; from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday; and closed Sunday.
